What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis as a highly successful alternative therapy.  It has been used for centuries for both medical and personal applications.  It can serve as an enhancement to the work of licensed physicians or psychologists; it can also be a standalone practice to help client’s change or improve existing habits, behaviors or beliefs.

When a client chooses a goal they are gently taken into a state of relaxation or, a state of trance, using guided imagery.  In this state the client is more receptive to suggestions by the hypnotherapist.  At this time, the gateway to the subconscious mind is opened, memories become accessible and new information is then stored.  The suggestions giving to the client are highly successful because the conscious mind is at rest and not trying to judge or analyze during the hypnotic state.  Clients have complete over their own success and take home their personalized cd/tape to use to enhance their results.

Special Note: Hypnotic suggestions that violate any specific client  beliefs or moral codes will be unsuccessful. The client has total control at all times and may come out of their trance state at any time if they are feeling uncomfortable for any reason.

Q:  What to expect during a hypnotherapy session?

A:  In a hypnotherapy session, a 5-10 minute interview is first conducted to gather information about goals.  Your hypnotherapist serves as a guide to facilitate your experience of focused concentration to reach a deep state of relaxation (trance) and further focus on suggestions designed to help you reach your goals.  At the end of the session, you would feel very relaxed and refreshed.

Q:  How effective is hypnotherapy?

A:  Quite effective.  One of the most popular applications is smoking cession.  It works on a great number of people to quit smoking after only one session. For others it has cut the volume of what they usually smoke in half.  Depending on whether the client really desires to quit, it may take 1-3 sessions.

It’s a very comfortable and relaxing with stress level being reduced in the process.
